Dr. Stephanie McMurrin

PT, DPT, OCS, CAPP-Pelvic
Doctor of Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health Specialist
Midtown Clinical Director

Since the start of my PT career I have always strived to learn as much knowledge as possible and utilize current research to better the lives of my patients. Not long after I started practicing physical therapy I decided to push myself and take on an orthopedic residency program. Through this residency I was able to better understand a variety of conditions and how the body functions as a whole to advance my patient’s goals and recovery. It's also where I found a love for manual therapy, a hands on approach to address issues throughout the body using a variety of techniques including trigger point dry needling, to get patients back to feeling their best.

I am passionate about teaching others about their body and strategizing ways to help guide you back to your goals.

Throughout my career I've become more familiar with the pelvis and how it controls many aspects of our daily lives. After receiving my board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist I continued my education with extensive training in pelvic conditions, achieving the CAPP-Pelvic designation through the APTA Academy on Pelvic Health. I wanted to shed light and bring healing to topics that are many times challenging to discuss but impact so many parts of our lives. I have been practicing pelvic PT in Atlanta metro for years now and can truly say I’ve found my passion in serving people with pelvic health challenges.

I am most proud when I can give hope to my patients again. Often the patients I’ve seen were close to giving up. I am particularly fond of one patient I remember who had been seeing multiple providers for her low back pain, pain with sex, and urinary incontinence, but no one had connected the pieces together to treat her symptoms holistically. After pelvic PT she was able to return to hiking, one of her passions she had been hesitant with following a back surgery. Additionally she could move without fear of leaking urine and could confidently return to her sex life without pain. I am passionate about teaching others about their body and strategizing ways to help guide you back to your goals.

“Dr. Stephanie is truly a God send. I never knew how complicated IBS could be but she is phenomenal with breaking everything down and prescribing exactly what you need to see progress. I would definitely recommend.”

Look Inside Your Body

I find this is a great resource to use with my pediatric patients to teach them more about their body and how it works. It is a lift the flap book and provides some great information.
