Happy New Year from Southern Pelvic Health

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! 🎉 We hope your 2026 is off to a great start. As we begin a fresh year full of possibility, we’re excited to reconnect and continue supporting your pelvic health journey.

We have a few updates we’re excited to share:

✨ Pelvic Health Tips of the Week Are Back!
Starting this month, we’ll be restarting our Pelvic Health Tip of the Week. These short, practical insights will cover topics like bladder and bowel habits, pain management strategies, and ways to support your pelvic health at home. We hope you’ll look forward to hearing from us more regularly.

✨ A Busy and Inspiring End to 2025
This past October, I (Dr. Jessica Reale) had the privilege of presenting at the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynecologic Physiotherapy (POGP) Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, sharing knowledge and learning alongside colleagues from around the world. I spoke on the role of intrarectal examination and treatment approaches for people with a variety of pelvic health conditions– the topic was well-received by participants! We had great conversations, and lots of mutual learning I’m excited to bring back to our clinic.

We also successfully hosted the 4th annual PelviCon Conference in September — a conference by pelvic rehab, for pelvic rehab, co-founded by Andrew & I, and our partners- Jesse and Nicole Cozean (practice owners out in California!). This year brought together over 600 in-person practitioners and 600+ virtual attendees for an incredible weekend of learning, with speakers traveling from across the globe. Even more exciting, we launched registration for our 5th year of PelviCon in November, and it sold out in less than five minutes. It’s been inspiring to see how deeply this conference is meeting a need in the pelvic rehab community. We are so grateful our SPH team partners with us in making sure this event is incredible every year!

✨ Our Team Continues to Grow!
We’re also thrilled to continue growing our clinical team and are grateful to have such exceptional pelvic physical therapists and patient care coordinators caring for patients at both our East Cobb and Midtown locations. Take some time to get to know our team members– they’re amazing people!

A Note for Those Who Are Struggling

If you’re dealing with pelvic floor symptoms — whether that’s bladder or bowel leakage, pelvic or genital pain, painful intimacy, or other difficulties— please know that you are not alone.

Pelvic floor conditions affect people of all genders and ages, including men and children. Large population-based studies show that pelvic floor disorders are highly prevalent across the lifespan. In adults, research estimates that roughly one in four individuals experience at least one pelvic floor disorder, such as urinary incontinence, bowel leakage, or pelvic pain. Other studies demonstrate that pelvic floor dysfunction frequently involves more than one system (bladder, bowel, and pain), reinforcing how common and multifactorial these conditions truly are.

If pelvic symptoms have been frustrating, isolating, or something you’ve been “pushing through,” we want you to know that help is available, and improvement is possible! You got this– and we’re here to help you along the way!

This year can be the year you stop letting pelvic floor symptoms dictate your daily life. Whether you’re continuing care with us or considering reaching out again, we are here to support you with compassion, clinical expertise, and hope for meaningful change.

Thank you for trusting us with your care.

Warmly,
Dr. Jessica Reale & the SPH Team
