Recent research indicates that close to 20% of individuals experience pain with sexual activity.

This can include pain related to arousal and orgasm, pain with sexual insertion, or pain after sexual activity. Often, the pelvic floor muscles can be involved when people are experiencing this type of pain.

You Are Not Alone

People experiencing painful sex can often feel hopeless. For some, it’s a pain that they’ve dealt with their entire lives, and for others, pain may arise randomly- after a surgery or a procedure, after birth, or after a stressful time in their lives.

Navigating The Pain

There are many factors that can contribute to this type of pain. This can include hormonal or skin challenges, nerve sensitivity or irritation, and pelvic floor muscle tension or overactivity. Our goal is to help you navigate this problem– find out why this is happening and ultimately get the results you need to move forward towards enjoyable and comfortable sexual health.

I'm so glad I found Southern Pelvic Health. I have been struggling silently for years with some pelvic floor issues. I had tried physical therapy once before somewhere else and wasn't super thrilled with the results. My experience at Southern Pelvic Health, however, has been nothing short of amazing.
